Since 1989, and more recently with the opening of a European office in Denmark, the Montreal-based company has been bringing together cycling enthusiasts to create exceptional bikes designed to ride out of the ordinary. Today, Argon 18 bikes are ridden on the roads, tracks and trails of more than 70 countries worldwide. 

THE ROLE

We are currently seeking a seasoned finance professional to provide strategic support and in-depth analysis to ensure optimal financial performance as we expand our market presence. Reporting to the CEO and working in close collaboration with the leadership team and the CFO of the parent company, the FP&A Manager will bridge sales, operations, finance, product and marketing to ensure sustainable growth, profitability, and efficient day-to-day management. The role is based in our European Headquarter in Lynge, Denmark with occasional travel to our North American Headquarter in Montreal, Canada.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Management and Leadership:

  • Oversee the organization's finances, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting in line with the parent company.
  • Ensure compliance with global financial regulations and standards.
  • Lead and manage the global Argon 18 finance team, providing guidance and support to ensure effective and accurate delivery of financial services.

Strategic Planning:

  • Contribute to the development of financial strategies and long-term financial planning.
  • Work closely with other departments to support business development, funding applications, and project management.
  • Act as a liaison between finance and operational teams.

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Prepare and present reports to senior management and the board as required to provide insights and recommendations based on financial performance and trends.
  • Identify budget variances, cost optimization and revenue enhancement opportunities.
  • Perform business analyses and reports for decision-making purposes while being the gatekeeper of Power BI reports providing this analysis.
  • Establish KPIs and performance metrics.

Risk Management:

  • Identify financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Ensure that the organization adheres to governance and compliance requirements.

Process Improvement:

  • Continuously assess and improve financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in financial management.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field with and MBA, CPA title an asset
  • 7 to 10 years of demonstrated experience in financial analyis and modelling in a manufacturing and B2B environment
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in team leadership
  • Experience in the bicycle, sports, outdoor, or consumer goods industry preferred

  • Strong business acumen and financial literacy

  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Passion for cycling and understanding of cycling culture is a plus
