Team Roskilde Jr. | Nationals Time

Team NPV Carl Ras Roskilde Junior has had one of their best seasons starts ever, with victories for several riders both in Denmark and abroad. With the 2022 Danish National Championship title to defend, it was with great ambitions that the riders took to the start line at the Danish championships in Aalborg on June 25, 2023. Virtually the entire team was contender for a top 10 spot, and several of the riders were solid candidates for the gold.

Team NPV Carl Ras Roskilde Junior took the front from the gun. The riders dominated the race and were aggressive all the way to the finish line, but ended up without the national jersey.

The team took second with Theodor Storm, third with Anton Louw Larsen, and had a total of five riders in the top 10. An impressive result - but when the riders dreamed of repeating last year's victory, there was also a bit of disappointment.

In the end, the team had to acknowledge that there was a rider who was stronger on the day.

We had the chance to follow the team and cover the battle.

"We are not satisfied with the result, because we had foreseen how the race developed. So, it must not happen that Albert Phillipsen breaks away when we are 6 riders in the group. He should have just been closed down immediately. We should have been more aggressive in the final, always trying to break away and isolate the other favorites. We didn't manage to do that in the final today, and that's not good enough."

"Of course, it's a shame that I didn't make it to the top of the podium because that was my goal. But coming in 2nd place two years in a row is extremely satisfying and shows my stable level, which I would personally think is one of my greatest strengths."

- Theodor Storm

"We were really good and controlled the race until the final. I am very proud of the collective effort, which is, once again, outstanding. We will take that with us to the World Championships and the other big races that are waiting after the summer holidays."
