Jérémy Briand was six years old when he watched Simon Whitefield win the inaugural Olympic triathlon in 2000, and knew even then he wanted to compete in the sport. At 13, he made his competitive debut and became one of the top junior athletes in Canada. In 2014, his final year in the junior category, he won silver medals at the Canadian National Championship, the North American Championship and the Pan American Championship.
While also a student at McGill University in Montreal, his 2023 season saw him finish 9th overall in the Super League Arena Games World Series and win the Edmonton World Triathlon Continental Cup. In 2024 Jérémy will make his long-course debut at the Challenge Cap Québec.
