Australia has a long history of success in track cycling with more medals won on the track than in any other cycling discipline, particularly at the international level, including numerous Olympic Games medals. With the Australian Cycling Team’s main focus being the 2020 Olympic Games, track cycling presents the best opportunity for gold medals with 12 Olympic medal events available; six in sprint events and six in endurance events.
